I’m happy to announce version 8.1 of the Plugins extension! This is minor update, bringing one new customization option, enhanced dark mode support, and some important bug fixes to improve your experience.
🎨 New Feature: Manual Theme Selection
Take full control of your extension’s appearance! You can now choose your preferred theme directly from the Settings page:
– Auto Mode – Automatically follows your system’s light/dark theme
– Light Mode – Always use light theme, regardless of system settings
– Dark Mode – Always use dark theme, regardless of system settings
Your theme choice is saved and applied consistently across all extension pages (Popup, Settings, Extensions Manager, History, Permissions Scanner, and more). Switch themes anytime to match your workflow or preference!
🌙 Enhanced Dark Mode Support
I’ve significantly improved dark mode support across the extension:
– History Page now fully supports dark mode with proper contrast and readability
– Better scrollbars that match your selected theme on all pages
– Improved visibility for extension titles, buttons, and UI elements in dark mode
This should give us consistent theming across all extension pages
🐛 Important Bug Fixes
### Extension Icon Restoration
Fixed an issue where your custom icon selection (nude, green, orange, red, or custom upload) would revert to the default blue icon after disabling and re-enabling the extension. Your icon preferences are now correctly restored!
### Preset Functionality Enhancement
The “Enable All” and “Disable All” preset options now work with both Chrome extensions and apps, giving you complete control over your browser environment. Custom presets also now properly include apps when you create them from enabled or selected items.
### Dark Mode Button Readability
Resolved a contrast issue where some button text was difficult to read in dark mode on the update/install pages.
💡 User Experience Improvements
– **Helpful Tooltips** added to buttons and elements on the History and Extensions Manager pages for better clarity
– Fixed typos on the settings page
– Polished UI with better tab styling and visual consistency
