I’m happy to announce Close & Clean 2.0, a big new update with improved code, sleeker design, and better control over your Chrome sessions. Here are the highlights:

1. Manifest V3 Upgrade

  • I’ve finally migrated from the old Manifest V2 to the latest Manifest V3. This ensures ongoing compliance with Chrome’s newest extensions platform, and so this is improving security and performance.

2. Modernized Settings Page

  • I redesigned the Settings page with a fresher card-style layout, clean typography, and better arrangement of all those checkboxes and radio buttons.
  • Each option comes with hover tips (tooltips) explaining what it does, making the extension even easier to use.

3. Better Accessibility

  • I have added default shortcut for the close button: Ctrl+Shift+X for Windows/Linux and Cmd+Shift+X on Mac
  • Buttons on the confirmation dialog (if used) are now keyboard-friendly.

4. Smarter Pinned Tabs Handling

  • Preserve Pinned tabs option now works as expected (bugfix).

5. Ask for Confirmation Now in a Popup

  • When enabled in Settings, you’ll be prompted via a brand-new popup that displays exactly which tabs will be closed and what browsing data is about to be cleaned.
  • Keyboard Accessible: Press Enter or Space to confirm, Esc or click Cancel to cancel, and use Tab/Arrow keys to navigate the dialog without a mouse.
